WINNR vs Ever Accountable (2026): Ever Accountable Review and Comparison
Ever Accountable review and cost, checked October 2026. What partners see, site and store prices, where your data goes, coaching, and how WINNR compares.
Prices, ratings and privacy details checked on 25 October 2026.
The short answer: pick Ever Accountable if what you need is someone else seeing what you do on your devices. It records your activity on phone, tablet and computer and sends a weekly report and instant alerts to a partner you choose. If you have a person you trust and want nothing hidden from them, it is the stronger choice today, and it is in the stores now. Pick WINNR if you want to work on the habit yourself, with a counter that keeps your history after a slip, an urge timer, a matched partner, an AI coach and a path to psychologists, with your data in the EU. WINNR launches in December 2026; until then it is a waiting list.
WINNR publishes this comparison. We have tried to be fair; every claim about Ever Accountable links to its source, and we apply the same privacy, pricing and evidence questions to ourselves as to Ever Accountable.

Ever Accountable review: what it is and how it works
Who makes it
Ever Accountable, LLC, Draper, Utah, founded by Tyler Patterson, per the privacy policy and About page. First App Store release: 30 June 2016. The terms of service are governed by Utah law. More in "Who is behind it" below.
How it works
The idea is simple: you are less likely to look at porn if someone you respect will see that you did. You install the app on every device, it records what you do, and a partner gets a weekly report plus instant alerts. According to the homepage and features page:
- Weekly report. The sample report article describes red events (known inappropriate content), yellow events (possibly inappropriate), an "All Activity" list of every website visited, time per app, and any interruption in sharing, with a date range to look back.
- Instant alerts. Per the alerts article, partners are alerted by email and text when you visit a blacklisted site, deactivate the app, or turn it back on.
- Screenshots. On Android the app takes random screenshots; the Android article says personal images are blurred and images are reviewed for concerning content. On iOS they go to partners blurred by default, with an unblurred option, per the blur article.
- Screen Broadcasting on iPhone. Apple does not let an app watch other apps, so Ever Accountable uses iOS screen broadcasting. The iOS sharing article explains that in-app monitoring only happens while broadcasting runs, that you can lock up to about 50 apps so they only open with broadcasting on, and that Safari uses a separate extension.
- Privacy Mode. A partner can be limited to concerning activity plus a few minutes before and after, per the Privacy Mode article.
- Optional filtering and app locking on Android and iOS; the homepage says it does not catch everything.
It runs on iOS 18 or later, Android, Windows, macOS, Chromebook and Kindle Fire, in 23 languages including Dutch and German. One subscription covers unlimited devices and partners.
What Ever Accountable says about itself
The homepage claims 95 percent of users report drastically reduced porn use within a month, 100,000 or more people helped and 700,000 or more installs. The guarantees page attributes the 95 percent to a survey of 1,474 users; the linked study page could not be opened on 25 October 2026. We mention this for the same reason we mention it about ourselves: WINNR has no user count or outcome figure to publish, and says so.
Ever Accountable pricing, free trial and ratings (as of October 2026)
The pricing page lists two membership plans with a 14-day trial, and two coaching add-ons that require membership. Amounts are in dollars; the page does not name the currency.
| Plan (checked 25 October 2026) | Website | App Store (US) |
|---|---|---|
| Individual, monthly | 14.99 US dollars | 9.99 or 14.99 US dollars |
| Individual, yearly | 129 US dollars (about 10.75 a month) | 88.99, 89.99 or 128.99 US dollars |
| Family, monthly / yearly | Not on the pricing page | 12.99 / 118.99 US dollars |
| Coaching, Essential | 99 US dollars a month | Not listed |
| Coaching, Premium | 197 US dollars a month | Not listed |
Sources: the pricing page and the App Store listing, which also lists an unexplained "Ascend" item at 147.99 dollars. Google Play shows no prices. The UK App Store lists 9.99 or 14.99 pounds a month and 86.99 to 129.99 pounds a year.
Coaching. Essential buys one 30-minute call a month, a weekly check-in and a review of your report. Premium buys two 60-minute calls, twice-weekly check-ins and priority response after a slip. The coaching page lists five coaches by personal recovery experience and years as accountability partners, and states no professional licence. The terms of service say the coaches are not licensed mental health or medical professionals and that coaching is not therapy.
Refunds. The guarantees page offers a full refund up to 90 days after the trial, plus a "no loophole" refund if you find a gap in the monitoring. Subscriptions auto-renew; uninstalling does not cancel.
Store ratings, checked 25 October 2026:
- App Store (US): 4.1 stars from 1,016 ratings, per Apple's lookup data. Version 19.7.47, released 7 October 2026. Age rating 4+ in the lookup data, 9+ on the store page.
- App Store (UK): 4.4 stars from 23 ratings.
- Google Play: 4.5 stars from about 5,400 reviews, 100K+ downloads. The homepage still shows an older 4.7 from 3,300 or more.
- Trustpilot: the profile could not be opened.
WINNR, for the same test: 9 euro a month or 49 euro a year, published on winnr.now; 29 euro for the first year for the first 100 waiting-list members. No free tier; the check and your plan are free. No store ratings yet, because the app is not in the stores until December 2026.
Privacy and data
This matters more for Ever Accountable than for most apps, because sharing your data with another person is the product. Same five questions for both.
Ever Accountable
What is collected. The privacy policy (updated 22 September 2026) lists account details, usage data (IP address, location, browser), cookies and web beacons for analytics and advertising, and survey and progress data including slip reports. It then says the service "can be configured" to capture screen images, keystrokes, website history, app usage, search queries, emails, instant messages, social media posts, audio, network activity and file transfers. What is captured depends on platform and settings, but that is the list you agree to. The App Store privacy label declares name, email, browsing history and crash data as linked to you, nothing under tracking.
Who can see it. Your partners, as reports, alerts and screenshots, in full or in Privacy Mode. Service providers for hosting, payments and marketing. A hashed email may go to advertising providers; the policy says activity data and screenshots do not. Staff do not generally review your usage. Screenshots are "reviewed for concerning content"; the article does not name who or what reviews them.
Where it is stored. Not stated by the provider. The only line is that information is "stored temporarily on our secure server". The company is in Utah; the policy names no region and no transfer mechanism for EU users. It claims ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certification.
Retention and deletion. No retention period is given; "temporarily" is the only word used. You can delete by signing in or emailing support@everaccountable.com, with a response within 30 days. Removing a partner does not delete what that partner already saw. No data protection officer is named.
Reported incident. We searched on 25 October 2026 and found none.
WINNR
What is collected. The privacy notice (updated 4 July 2026, marked as pending legal review) lists your email, a display handle, subscription status and a Stripe reference; and, as special-category data, your questionnaire answers, goals, urge events, counter history, journal entries, community posts, partner messages and AI coach messages. No card details. No cookies or IP logging on the website. No screenshots, no browsing history.
Who can see it. Supabase (database, AWS Stockholm), Hetzner (hosting, Germany), Brevo (email, France), Stripe (payments, US and Ireland), Google (only with Google sign-in). If you opt in to the AI coach, your coach messages are processed by OpenRouter with a DeepSeek model in the United States, under zero-retention terms and standard contractual clauses. That is the honest exception to "EU only". No partner, spouse or mentor receives reports.
Where it is stored. EU servers, with the AI coach exception above.
Retention and deletion. Kept while your account is open; unused accounts deleted after 12 months; payment records kept seven years under Dutch tax law. Delete everything from Settings, actioned immediately; coach data is exportable. Other requests to winnr.now@gmail.com, one-month response. No DPO yet; Chino.io will be appointed at launch.
Reported incident. None. WINNR has not launched, so this is a policy, not a track record.

What real users say about Ever Accountable
We read recent reviews on the App Store and Google Play on 25 October 2026. These are paraphrased themes, not quotes.
Recurring praise
- It works when a partner is involved. An August 2026 Play reviewer of six years credited the accountability and blocking with real change; another August 2026 Play reviewer recommended adding close family as partners.
- Coverage across devices. One App Store reviewer (June, year not shown) found the monitoring better than Covenant Eyes' browser.
- Support responds. A July 2026 Play reviewer raised a one-star trial-renewal problem, then updated the review after support restored the original price.
Recurring complaints
- False flags. The same July 2026 reviewer said ads were flagged; a September 2026 UK Play reviewer said ordinary activity was marked as porn; a February 2026 App Store reviewer said the detection flags far too much.
- Screen broadcasting on iPhone. The February 2026 reviewer said apps relock within seconds and the broadcast slowed the phone; a January reviewer (year not shown) said constant broadcasting felt like a reminder of the struggle.
- Updates that broke things. A January App Store reviewer (year not shown) said an update blocked work and banking apps.
- Gaps on the computer. A February 2023 Play reviewer found nothing reported from the Brave browser; the Mac article confirms only Safari and Chrome are tracked.
Head-to-head
| Feature | WINNR | Ever Accountable |
|---|---|---|
| Model | Self-directed habit change | Monitoring with a partner |
| Progress tracking | Counter keeps your history after a slip | Weekly activity report |

| Partner reports, screenshots | No, by design | Weekly report, instant alerts, screenshots |
| AI | AI coach (ACT and CBT), opt-in, not a therapist | On-device AI flags images; no coach |
| Human support | Matched partner; psychologist sessions in development | Your own partner; coaching at 99 or 197 dollars a month, not licensed |
| Blocker | Classic blocker ready; social-media blur in development | Optional filter and app locking; "does not catch everything" |
| Platforms, languages | iOS and Android from December 2026; English | Six platforms; 23 languages |
| Store ratings | None yet | 4.1 App Store (1,016), 4.5 Google Play (about 5,400) |
| Price per year | 49 euro | 129 US dollars on the site; 88.99 to 128.99 on the App Store |
| Data location | EU, opt-in US processing for the AI coach | Not stated; company in Utah |
These are two different answers to the same problem. Ever Accountable assumes the thing that stops you is being seen; WINNR assumes it is having something to do in the two minutes when the urge is loudest, and someone to talk to afterwards who will not reset your count to zero.
What the research says
Be careful with every company's claims, ours included. A 2022 content analysis in JMIR Formative Research reviewed 170 apps for problematic pornography use and found that none cited direct evidence of effectiveness or safety. Ever Accountable's 95 percent figure comes from its own user survey, not a controlled study. The same test applies to WINNR: its science page says the cited evidence concerns the methods WINNR uses, that nobody has yet checked whether WINNR itself works, and that a controlled study is planned.
WINNR builds on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with CBT elements, self-monitoring with goal setting and feedback, and if-then plans; the screener is the PPCS-6. The team also draws on the Dual Control Model of sexual response (Bancroft and Janssen), which describes arousal as a balance of excitation and inhibition, as a model to design around rather than proof that WINNR works. Ever Accountable rests on the idea that transparency to a trusted person changes behaviour, and cites no study of its own app.
Neither app is a treatment, therapy or crisis service. If porn use is seriously hurting your life, a licensed therapist is worth adding to either.
When WINNR is the better choice
- You do not want anyone receiving screenshots or a list of every website you visited.
- You want your answers, journal and messages on EU servers, with named processors, a stated retention period and an immediate delete button.
- You have slipped before and want a counter that keeps your history, not a report that records the slip for someone else.
- You want to talk to a person with training at a price a student can pay, rather than 99 dollars a month for an unlicensed coach.
- You are 15. WINNR is built for men from 15 up; Ever Accountable requires 16, or a parent to open the account.
- You can wait until December 2026.
When Ever Accountable is the better choice
- You have a person you trust and want nothing hidden from them. That is the whole product.
- You need coverage on a laptop or desktop. WINNR has no desktop app and no browser extension.
- You want monitoring on a child's or spouse's device with their consent. WINNR is for the person using it only.
- You need something tonight, with a 14-day trial and a 90-day refund window.
- You want the app in Dutch or German. WINNR is English only.
How to switch from Ever Accountable, or use both
If you are moving to WINNR
- Join the WINNR waiting list at winnr.now by taking the free 4-minute check. Your place and the founding price are reserved by email.
- Tell your partner first. Ever Accountable sends a deactivation alert the moment you turn it off. A text beforehand turns a red flag into a plan.
- Cancel at the source. Website, Apple or Google, wherever you paid. Uninstalling does not cancel billing. Inside the 90-day window, ask for the refund the guarantees page promises.
- Request deletion. Email support@everaccountable.com and ask for written confirmation; the policy promises a response within 30 days. Reports your partner already viewed are not undone.
- Keep a blocker in the gap. Until December, use Screen Time's adult-site limit on iPhone or Private DNS with a family filter on Android, and give the passcode to someone you trust. Our guide to the best porn blocker apps covers the free options.
If you want to use both
- Ever Accountable for monitoring and desktop coverage; WINNR for the urge timer, the counter, the matched partner and the psychologist sessions once they open.
- Ever Accountable will show your partner that you opened WINNR and for how long, and with broadcasting on may capture what you type there.
- Pick one place to log slips.
Key takeaways

- Store ratings are 4.1 on the App Store (1,016 ratings) and 4.5 on Google Play (about 5,400 reviews).

- Coaching costs 99 or 197 dollars a month extra, and the coaches are not licensed, per the company's own terms.
- WINNR costs 9 euro a month or 49 euro a year, sends no reports to anyone, keeps data in the EU except for opt-in AI coach messages, and is not in the stores until December 2026. Neither app has published evidence that it works.
FAQ
How much does Ever Accountable cost?
14.99 US dollars a month or 129 a year on the website, checked 25 October 2026, after a 14-day free trial. The App Store lists 9.99 or 14.99 a month and 88.99 to 128.99 a year depending on the offer. Coaching is 99 or 197 dollars a month on top. There is no free tier.
What does Ever Accountable show my partner?
By default, a weekly report with every website visited, time per app, flagged events, any interruption in sharing, and screenshots (blurred by default on iOS), plus instant alerts for blacklisted sites and deactivation. Privacy Mode limits a partner to concerning events plus a few minutes of context. The provider does not state how long reports are kept.
Does Ever Accountable block porn?
Partly. The optional filter turns on safe search and blocks known porn sites, and iOS app locking keeps chosen apps closed unless screen broadcasting is on. The homepage says it does not catch everything; the main mechanism is reporting, not blocking.
Is Ever Accountable worth it?
If you have a trusted partner and want full transparency, many users say yes: Google Play rates it 4.5 and reviewers credit the reports with real change. The recurring complaints are false flags, screen broadcasting on iPhone, and updates that broke other apps. If you have no partner, or screenshots going to someone would make you less honest rather than more, it is the wrong tool.
Is WINNR better than Ever Accountable?
They do different jobs. Ever Accountable makes your activity visible to someone else and is available now. WINNR, from December 2026, gives you tools to handle the urge yourself, with EU data storage and no reports to anyone. Neither has published evidence that it works.

A note on what this is
WINNR makes this comparison and has a commercial interest in it. Prices, ratings and policies were checked on 25 October 2026 and can change; check the linked sources before you pay. This page is educational. It is not a diagnosis and it is not medical advice. WINNR is not a treatment or therapy. If porn use is seriously affecting your life, speak to a licensed professional; if you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services.
