WINNR vs Accountable2You (2026): Accountable2You Review and Comparison
Accountable2You review and cost, checked October 2026: what partners see, the 15-day log rule, ratings, website vs App Store prices, how WINNR differs.
Prices, ratings and privacy details checked on 25 October 2026.
The short answer: pick Accountable2You if a partner, mentor or parent has asked to see what you do on your devices, including your laptop. It is a monitoring tool: it logs activity and sends reports to people you choose, and it blocks nothing. Pick WINNR if you want to change the habit yourself, privately, with an urge timer, a counter that keeps your history after a slip, a matched partner and a path to a psychologist. WINNR is not in the app stores until December 2026, so today it is a waiting list.
WINNR publishes this comparison. We have tried to be fair; every claim about Accountable2You links to its source, and we apply the same privacy, pricing and evidence questions to ourselves as to Accountable2You.

Accountable2You review: what it is and how it works
Who makes it
Accountable2You is made by Accountable2You, LLC, at 1414 N Main St, Williamstown, Kentucky, the address on the Google Play listing and the privacy policy. The Kentucky Secretary of State record shows it was organised on 22 August 2012. The About page names nobody, but its linked note from the owner is signed by Ben Lawrence, cofounder and CEO, who built the first version in 2006. The company describes itself in Christian terms (digital purity, honouring God, "Live with nothing to hide"). You do not need to share that faith to use it, but you should know going in.
How it works
Accountable2You is two apps. The Monitoring app runs in the background and records websites, searches and app use. The Reports app, released in September 2025, is where partners read the logs. It runs on Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, Chromebook and Linux (supported versions). Key features:
- Activity logging. On Windows and Android, the app shows the title of each page viewed and rates it green, yellow or red. The data collection article lists what can be recorded, depending on the device: page titles, searches, on-screen text, the text of messages sent and received, call logs, location and app names.
- Partners, reports and alerts. You choose who receives reports for each device and whether they see everything or only alerts; you can add your own trigger words.
- Circumvention tracking. Uninstalling or disabling the app is recorded and partners are notified, per the iOS page.
- App exclusions. You can exclude apps such as banking on every platform except iPhone, but excluding notifies your partner.
It does not block: the filtering article calls filters largely ineffective against the will and points to CleanBrowsing's free DNS filter and Apple's Screen Time. And it does not take screenshots, because they alert too late and expose partners to the same images.
The iPhone limitation
The iOS page says monitoring works through a VPN profile and records browser activity, including private browsing, but that because of iOS limits the app cannot reliably monitor activity inside non-browser apps, naming Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. The support FAQ on iOS confirms that for most apps your partner sees the app's name and time spent, not what happened inside. On iPhone, your partner gets a thinner picture than on Windows or Android.
Accountable2You pricing, free trial and ratings (as of October 2026)
In US dollars, from the pricing page on 25 October 2026.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | Covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal (website) | 11 US dollars | 121 US dollars | Up to 6 installs, unlimited partners |
| Family (website) | 16 US dollars | 176 US dollars | Up to 20 installs, parent and child accounts, time alerts |
| Personal (App Store in-app purchase) | 14.99 US dollars | Not offered | Same plan, bought through Apple |
Note the mismatch. The App Store listing sells one in-app purchase, Personal Monthly at 14.99 dollars (14.99 pounds on the UK store). Accountable2You's own article on Apple payments confirms the App Store price is higher and says switching saves about 4 dollars a month. Sign up on the website, then add your iPhone as a device.
Free trial and refunds. The sign-up page offers a 10-day trial; it does not say whether a card is needed. The refund policy is clearer than most: a monthly plan is refundable for the last month, a yearly plan in full within 7 days and prorated after. Apple or Google payments must be refunded by Apple or Google.
Store ratings, checked 25 October 2026:
- App Store (US), Accountable2You Monitoring: 3.7 stars from 258 ratings, version 1.4.6 released 31 July 2026, first released December 2021 (Apple lookup data).
- App Store (US), Accountable2You Reports: 4.1 stars from 10 ratings. Too few to mean much.
- Google Play: 3.9 stars from about 280 reviews, 50K+ downloads, updated 25 August 2026 (Google Play listing).
- Trustpilot: the profile could not be fetched on 25 October 2026, so we do not use it. AlternativeTo has one review, from 2015.
WINNR, for the same test: 9 euro a month or 49 euro a year, published on winnr.now; 29 euro for the first year for the first 100 waiting-list members. No free tier. No refund terms published yet. No store ratings, because the app is not in the stores until December 2026.
Privacy and data
The same five questions for both.
Accountable2You
What is collected. The privacy policy, last updated 7 October 2022, lists account details and "Activity Data": website titles, email subjects, app usage, file logs, geolocation, call and text logs and timestamps, varying by operating system. The App Store label on the Monitoring app declares location, email, name, browsing history, identifiers, usage and crash data, all linked to you. The Google Play summary says the app may collect personal info, messages and four other data types.
Who can see it. Your accountability partners, who receive your full name and your Activity Data, and whom you can remove at any time. The policy says the company does not share personal data with third parties, including data brokers and advertisers. No processors are named.
Where it is stored. Not stated. The company is in Kentucky, so assume the United States. The policy does not mention GDPR. The Play summary says data is encrypted in transit; nothing is said about encryption at rest.
Retention and deletion. This is Accountable2You's strongest privacy point. The policy, the terms and a support article all say activity data is kept for 15 days, then permanently deleted, with no backups. The exception is scheduled exports, which email you CSV copies. Account details are kept after cancellation unless you ask otherwise. You can delete the account yourself through Account Settings. No data protection officer is named.
Reported incident. We found no reported breach or exposure involving Accountable2You.
WINNR
What is collected. The privacy notice, updated 4 July 2026 and marked as pending legal review, lists your email, a display handle, subscription status and a Stripe customer reference; and, as special-category data, your questionnaire answers, goals, urge events, counter history, journal entries, community posts, partner messages and AI coach messages. WINNR does not record your browsing, your messages in other apps, your location or your screen.
Who can see it. No partner receives reports. The processors are Supabase (database, AWS Stockholm), Hetzner (hosting, Germany), Brevo (email, France), Stripe (payments, US and Ireland) and Google (only if you choose Google sign-in). If you opt in to the AI coach, your coach messages are processed by OpenRouter with a DeepSeek model in the United States under zero-retention terms. That is the one exception to EU-only processing, and you can use WINNR without the coach.
Where it is stored. EU servers, with the AI coach exception above.
Retention and deletion. Kept while your account is open; unused accounts are deleted after 12 months; payment records are kept seven years under Dutch tax law. You can delete everything from Settings, actioned immediately. No DPO yet; Chino.io is to be appointed at launch.
Reported incident. None. WINNR has not launched, so this is a policy, not a track record.
Who is behind it
Accountable2You
Accountable2You, LLC, a Kentucky company organised in 2012, based in Williamstown, led by cofounder and CEO Ben Lawrence. The About page describes a team but gives no size or names; the company also sells ministry, school and business plans. Support is by email at support@accountable2you.com. Fourteen years in business is a track record WINNR cannot claim.
WINNR
WINNR is made by Stichting Extraordinary Life (KvK 75069385), a Dutch foundation in Rotterdam. The founder is NJ (Nicolaas van Disseldorp), a coach and researcher. The team of six includes a CTO, a founding engineer, a lead writer with a background in work and organisational psychology, and two practical-interventions consultants. Bios are at winnr.now/about.html. WINNR won Impacthon (PLNT, Leiden) in September 2026. Contact is winnr.now@gmail.com. WINNR builds on psychology, not faith.
What real users say about Accountable2You
Read on the App Store (US, UK, Australia) and Google Play on 25 October 2026. Paraphrased themes, not quotes, from a small sample.
Recurring praise
- It works as a deterrent and gives partners peace of mind. An August 2026 Play reviewer of eight years said the transparency itself is what helps; another August 2026 Play reviewer said it keeps her husband accountable.
- Some prefer a full history to a blocker. A November 2023 App Store reviewer had used it for a year on a phone and a Chromebook and planned to renew.
- Two December 2025 Reports app reviewers said push notifications beat the old text alerts.
Recurring complaints
- Missed activity. A February 2026 App Store reviewer, subscribed since October 2024, said the app failed to report porn use for months and got only a partial refund. A June 2026 Reports-app reviewer said it could not record activity on Apple devices or messaging apps; the developer replied that iOS monitoring is more limited. An August 2026 Play reviewer said non-explicit content slips through unless you set custom triggers.
- False alarms. A September 2024 App Store reviewer asked for fewer alerts from ordinary articles; a third-party summary of Play reviews lists flagged therapy messages and Bible reading.
- Slower phone. August 2022 and November 2024 App Store reviewers reported slower browsing with the iOS VPN profile active.
- Access. A March 2026 Play reviewer found reports hard to reach and switched apps.
On Android and desktop it sees a lot and sometimes flags too much; on iPhone it sees less and misses things.

Accountable2You answers "what did I do on my devices, and who knows?" WINNR answers "what do I do in the next ten minutes when the urge hits, and how do I get back on track after a slip?" If you want the second question answered without anyone reading a log, WINNR was built for exactly that, and the free check at winnr.now takes four minutes. If a partner has asked to see your activity, pick a monitoring tool, not WINNR.
What the research says
Be careful with every company's claims, ours included. A 2022 content analysis in JMIR Formative Research reviewed 170 apps for problematic pornography use and found that none cited direct evidence for the app's efficacy or safety. That is true of Accountable2You, which makes no outcome claims, and of WINNR. WINNR's science page says so: the evidence concerns the methods WINNR uses, nobody has yet checked whether WINNR itself works, and a controlled study is planned after launch.
WINNR builds on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with CBT elements, self-monitoring with goal setting and feedback, and if-then plans; the screener is the PPCS-6 (Bothe et al., 2020). The team also draws on the Dual Control Model of sexual response (Bancroft and Janssen) as a model to design around, not as proof that WINNR works. Accountable2You's premise is that being seen changes behaviour; reasonable, and also untested in any published study of the product.
Neither product is a treatment, therapy or crisis service. If porn use is seriously hurting your life, add a licensed therapist to either.
When WINNR is the better choice
- You want to work on the habit privately. Nobody receives reports, and your data stays on EU servers.
- You want tools for the moment itself: an urge timer, a counter that survives a slip, and a partner you talk to rather than one who watches a log.
- You want a path to a real psychologist at a price a student can pay, once sessions open.
- You want a blocker in the same app.
- You can wait until December 2026, or you want the founding price now.
When Accountable2You is the better choice
- Someone you trust has asked to see your activity, and you have agreed. WINNR offers no partner monitoring or activity reports and will not.
- Most of your use happens on a laptop or desktop. WINNR has no desktop app or browser extension.
- You are a parent covering a household, with up to 20 installs on the Family plan.
- You want something that works tonight, with a 10-day trial.
- A faith-based company is a plus for you.
If you want monitoring and a blocker in one product, Covenant Eyes is the closest comparison at a higher price. For a habit app with a blocker you can download today, see our winnr vs quittr comparison.
How to switch from Accountable2You, or use both
If you are moving to WINNR
- Talk to your partner first. Uninstalling notifies them.
- Export anything you want to keep. Logs disappear after 15 days anyway.
- Cancel at the source. On the website: Account Settings, Manage Account, Cancel Subscription; choose "cancel immediately" if you want a refund. If you pay through Apple or Google, cancel there. Uninstalling does not cancel billing.
- Delete the account during cancellation or later via Account Settings. Otherwise your details are kept for resubscribing.
- Remove the VPN profile and device admin in your phone settings after uninstalling.
- Join the WINNR waiting list at winnr.now by taking the free 4-minute check.
- Keep a filter in the gap. Until December, use Screen Time's adult-site limit on iPhone or Private DNS on Android. Our guide to the best porn blocker apps covers the free options, and our overview of the best apps to quit porn covers the rest of the category.
If you want to use both
- Accountable2You for the transparency you have agreed to, especially on a laptop.
- WINNR for the counter, the urge timer, the matched partner and, later, the psychologist sessions.
- Remember that Accountable2You on Android and desktop can record on-screen text, including what you type into WINNR.
Key takeaways
- Accountable2You is a monitoring tool, not a blocker: it logs activity on up to six devices and reports it to partners you invite.
- It costs 11 US dollars a month or 121 a year on the website (Family 16 or 176); the App Store sells only a monthly plan at 14.99, so buy on the website.
- Its best privacy feature is the 15-day log retention; its weakest is a 2022 policy that names no storage location, processors or GDPR rights.
- Ratings are middling (3.7 on the App Store from 258 ratings, 3.9 on Google Play from about 280): praise for the deterrent effect, complaints about missed activity on iPhone, false alarms and slowdowns.
- WINNR costs 9 euro a month or 49 euro a year, keeps your data in the EU, sends no reports to anyone, and is not in the stores until December 2026.
FAQ
Is Accountable2You free?
No. There is a 10-day free trial, then a paid plan from 11 US dollars a month or 121 a year.
How much does Accountable2You cost?
121 US dollars a year or 11 a month for Personal, 176 a year or 16 a month for Family, checked on 25 October 2026. Buying through the App Store costs about 4 dollars a month more, by Accountable2You's own account.
Does Accountable2You block porn?
No. It records and reports activity; it does not filter or block, by design. It recommends a separate DNS filter such as CleanBrowsing, or Apple's Screen Time.
Is Accountable2You worth it?
If a partner has agreed to receive reports and you mainly use Android or a computer, users say it does what it promises and the 15-day log deletion is a real plus. If you are on iPhone and most of your use is inside apps, 2026 reviewers report that it misses a lot. If nobody will read the reports, it is the wrong category for you.
Is WINNR better than Accountable2You?
They do different jobs. Accountable2You shows a partner what you did. WINNR helps you handle the urge and the slip yourself, privately, at 49 euro a year with data in the EU, from December 2026. Neither has published evidence that it works.
Can I use WINNR and Accountable2You together?
Yes, once WINNR launches. Keep Accountable2You for the transparency you have agreed to, and use WINNR for the day-to-day work on the habit. On Android and desktop, Accountable2You can record on-screen text, including what you type into WINNR.

A note on what this is
WINNR makes this comparison and has a commercial interest in it. Prices, ratings and policies were checked on 25 October 2026 and can change; check the linked sources before you pay. This page is educational. It is not a diagnosis and it is not medical advice. WINNR is not a treatment or therapy. If porn use is seriously affecting your life, speak to a licensed professional; if you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services.
